Laura challenges us to use the new official tangle Gourdgeous. When I saw this pattern in the Zentangle HQ newsletter, I wasn't sure what to do with it. So: it was a good thing Laura made me think about it and just try and let it enter in a tile.
I ended up combining it with Diva Dance, Bales and Arukas. Not sure if I will use Gourdgeous very often, but it was nice to give it a try.
Thanks for visiting my blog :-)
Stunning combo of tangles, Ilse. I like how you have the Diva Dance grow from the Gourdgeous.
ReplyDeleteGourdgeous Ilse. I tri
ReplyDelete*oops hit the button too soon!. I feel the same as you regarding this tangle
ReplyDeleteMe too, not my favorite tangle, but I do love how you incorporated it in your tile! Nice job. You've encouraged me to give it a try! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat composition. It looks great against the Diva Dance particularly. I feel the same too, as I mention in my blog. Interesting that all the reactions here are the same.
ReplyDeleteyour tile is beautiful, i like the patterns you used
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast and beauty that you have created with line and shading!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love how you've let Gourdgeous "play" with the other tangles. A very creative tile!
ReplyDeleteOok zeker geen favoriet van mij, maar toch leuk dat we dan wel meedoen :-) De jouwe is toch erg mooi geworden.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured it very well, Ilse - and love how you've followed around it with Diva Dance. Very nice! Axxx
ReplyDeleteYour tile is beautiful! I love your composition and how you incorporated Diva Dance. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did! Very organic and has a snug feel to it.
ReplyDeleteErg leuk, ik heb er echt mee geworsteld en na 3 x vond ik het goed....
ReplyDeleteThis really flows. It's lovely.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely NOT one of my favorite tangles--perhaps because it's more representational than the others. So I agree with you. However, you did a superb job with it.
Like you, I'm not sure I would have voluntarily sat down and said, "Let's see, I think I'll do something with Gourdgeous." This is why I like the Diva's challenges. They force me out of my comfort zone. You combined Gourdgeous very well with the other tangles you chose which makes for a very pleasing composition.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely tile! I like your combination of Gourdgeous and Diva Dance!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile!
ReplyDeleteYour tile turned out great. I know what you mean about Gourdeous....it's a nice tangle, but I think I will have a problem finding places to use it. Your Diva Dance to the side of it is a nice accent to Gourdeous, and the other tangles really complement it well. Nice piece!
ReplyDeleteIlse, this looks lovely!! I am not sure I would have used it either ... but worth it!! :) :)
