It's a String Thing #111

This week's challenge by Adele Bruno is a DIY-challenge :-) She gives us the pattern Hamail (new to me) and lets us choose ourselves both the string and a pattern we love to draw to add to the tile.

I really liked this kind of challenge. I drew a simple line as a string after I had drawn Hamail and chose to add Hollibaugh and Fife. These are both patterns of Molly Hollibaugh that are amongst my favorites.
And: I had a lot of relaxing fun :-)

  1. Gorgeous tile Ilse! Your "Hamail" is so beautifully proportioned. I just finished mine this morning~my petals are ...uhm...abstract;-) Your shading is spot on! Responding to the comment you left on my blog about Helen Williams: The precision of her line work is amazing and for me, difficult to replicate in most instances, especially when she draws her strings and curls-that ability to keep those lines the EXACT same distance apart in such elegant curves...sigh.. I keep trying! Thanks for being such regular visitor to my blog and for leaving your insightful and inspiring comments.
