Laura already mentioned: this week's challenge is harder than it looks. When you have to leave 60-70% of the tile blank, it's even more important than normal to really think about a striking composition. It's a real challenge :-) to create something interesting.
Since you're quickly finished drawing this way :-) I decided to try three versions. The first one shows Tootle in white on black:
On the second tile, I put Mak-rah-mee and Abacus together:
Finally I chose to draw Marasu inside a little border frame:
I'm not sure which one is my favorite. Do you have one?
Thanks for visiting my blog, your comments are always read and much appreciated :-)
I think the frames really make the tiles work. Even one small motif takes on a life of its own then. Love all three of these.
ReplyDeletevery nice, i like all your tiles
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely of course. The black is cleverly interesting and Marasu is always fun, but my favourite since you ask is the Mak-rah-mee and Abacus.
ReplyDeleteI like all three tiles; there are beautiful!.
ReplyDeleteWOW, beautiful tiles! I like them all!
ReplyDeleteAlweer zo snel zoveel mooie resultaten, Ilse! Super :)
ReplyDeleteStunning tiles of crisp beauty!
ReplyDeleteI really like the last one. the marasu makes me think there is someone hiding around the corner with a party horn... :)
ReplyDeletePrachtig, vooral de tweede!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful all of them my fave? Umm maybe mak-rah-mee one just a tiny bit more than the rest :)
ReplyDeleteI love your tiles for this special challenge! The white on blaok is wonderful (my favourite one, but the others are great too) and Tootle is a perfect pattern for it :-)
ReplyDeleteTe gek, jou ligt het duidelijk ook. Leuk gedaan.
ReplyDeleteNice tiles, Ilse! I love them all
ReplyDeleteYour tiles really show that less can be more.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteThree great tiles! Can't pick a favorite.
ReplyDeleteWonderful tiles. I particularly like the put Mak-rah-mee one.
ReplyDeleteYou created very beautiful tiles again. I especially love the second one, it is so creative and elegant, looks a bit like jewellery to me.
ReplyDeletemarasu has always been a favorite of mine. i love it here. so creative on all your tiles, but that one is my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteThese are all so nice - I would never have thought to use the pattern you did on black, and it works so well. The Marasu is impressive just hanging out there all alone, you know? But the Makrahmee one is my favorite. The Abacus looks like pretty earrings!
ReplyDeleteAll three are beautiful and elegant :)
ReplyDeleteAll three are nice, but the middle one is really, really nice. I wish I had thought of something dangling. Great idea and beautifully executed.
