Diva's Challenge #232

Guest blogger Holly Atwater challenges us to participate in an Audio Challenge, (Take a look at the Diva's blog for more explanation.) or to use Betweed.

I'm always curious to experience new things, so I started Audio Challenge 1. When my tile was finished, I noticed two things:

1. I had not been listening well, which meant I created a variation of Tripoli instead of the real thing :-) No problem to me, there's no mistakes in zentangle ;-)

2. I was finished very quickly and the result is quite simple. No problem either: I can make another one :-)

And so I did, with Betweed in string 092.

Thank you very much for visiting my blog, your comments are much appreciated!

  1. Oh I like that version of Tripoli, it is almost 'right' and in fact I think it is more interesting. Lovely Betweed with great shading and other bits and pieces. Lovely

  2. Great job on both. Your Tripoli reminds me of stained glass - nice!

  3. Ilse... I LOVE your version of Tripoli! That's the thing with listening sometimes... You can hear things differently and create gorgeous versions. You weren't tied down to what anything was "supposed" to look like! Beautifully done...

I love the bold look you created with your Betweed tile! The mix with tipple and black pearls is fabulous! Shading is wonderful as well! Thanks so much for participating in the duo challenge!

  7. Wow, je eerste is zo ontzettend mooi; misschien eenvoudig, maar tussen de tangles weet je licht te laten schijnen. Wow dus! De tweede vind ik ook mooi.

  8. That's exactly how my tripoli looks...guess I wasn't listening too closely either, but it's still very nice. Your betweed is gorgeous!

  9. I agree with Holly's comments that there is nothing wrong. I like the variations. I did another audio meditation but have not posted it yet. Even though I was listening and actually replayed a part of the audio file, I did struggle a little with some of the directions. Sometimes something sounds very clear to us because we have a frame of reference that maybe the listener does not. Part of the reason that it always good to verify verbal communication.

  10. Fun that you followed the audio and came up with your own version. You know that I much prefer variations to tangles rather than the exact same thing time after time. The Betweed looks like a beautiful star to me.

  12. Absolutely lovely tiles, Ilse! I like how the Tripoli one seems to sparkle where the shading ends - how clever is that! And your Betweed tile is stunning.

  17. I do like your version of tripoli! I think it's so fascinating that we can hear the same thing and interpret it differently! And your Betweed is beautiful!
