Diva's challenge #237

Charlotte Carpentier is this week's guest blogger at Laura's blog. Charlotte challenges us to find something to use for a stencil and create a string of it with (spray) paint, and then tangle it.

I don't have a proper stencil, nor spray paint. So, as Charlotte suggested, I cut a paper snow flake:

Then I used watercolor to create a string, let the tile dry and tangled away :-)

Thank you Charlotte, for challenging me to create in a different way than normal. That's one of the things I love about participating in challenges: thinking out of your own box ;-)

  1. Wonderful use of a paper snowflake stencil. The finished piece has a snowflake look to it too!

  2. For such a simple initial idea, this works really well and your choice of patterns is really nice.

  4. Mooi Ilse, zou zomaar een kerstkaart kunnen worden. En ja als je geen templates hebt moet je creatief zijn, dat heb jij weer bewezen met deze uitdaging.

  6. :-) I love pushing people's boundaries. You did a great take on just what I was talking about. My first stencils were household items...and whatever spray bottle or sponge or cotton ball I could get my hands on.

  7. Leuk, je kindertijd komt zo wel terug. Er was een tijd dat mijn hele huis vol lag met (vaak verschoten) papieren kleedjes die mijn kinderen maakten :-)

  8. It never occurred to me to make my own stencil. The snowflake works very well. I like the tangles and colors you chose against the blue background.

  9. Beautiful tile! I especially like the middle part, it is so three-dimensional and colorful. And I am glad that I am not the only one who didn't have a proper stencil and therefore cut one from paper.
