Diva's challenge: Unbatz

This may not be my most creative tile, but I certainly won't forget about making it... Today, I was in the hospital for my monthly infusion. Last time my body temperature rose too quickly, so unfortunately they had to stop the infusion very early. Today, they were very carefull: my temperature was measured every 15 minutes and the gift would be cancelled again if my temp would be 38.0 or higher.

So here we went: 37.2 - 37.5 - 37.6 - 37.8 - 37.9 - aaaah! I need this medication! :-(
You'll understand how lucky I felt when the next one was 37.6 and that I didn't get above that anymore :-). Pfff... Let's hope next month will be less of a rollercoaster...

In the mean time, I was glad I took some paper and my Micron pen and a pencil with me - and that there was a Diva challenge. Zentangling is such a great way to focus on staying calm and believing things will work out just fine. I suppose I focused more on that than on the design of this tile, but I don't mind about that at all ;-)

  1. Ilse, your unbatz tile is great. It looks like we're viewing it through a key hole. I'm really glad you were able to finish your infusion. I will always bring some tangling supplies to appointments where I may have to wait (i.e. most appointments and certainly, most medical appointments). I hope your week continues on a positive note.

  3. Love the dimension that you created with this tile and I am so glad that your infusion went well today! The "Zen" in Zentangle perhaps helped? (Plus the great staff who monitored it!) I too hope that your week continues to be positive!

  11. This is a great tile! I love how you made a large scale to put the smaller ones inside (the keyhole description is perfect)! Fantastic interpretation of this tangle! Shading too! LOVE IT! Micron and tiles - never leave home without it ;)

  12. Ilse, what a nice testament to the powerful effects these little works of art can have in our lives! I love how you used the Unbatz as the string. It has such an interesting shape. The dark Holibaugh provides a nice contrast to the lighter venter section and your wonderful shading makes it float! Lovely!

  20. It looks like a key hole. I think your Heavenly Father is using Zentangle as a key to keeping you calm and your Heavenly Brother Jesus is guiding your hand. Such a close knit family of love must make you feel cradled in the arms of the Holy Spirit. To feel this comforted should keep your temp. down. Our Heavenly Father will use anything to give us "the peace that surpasses all understanding". All we need to do is pay attention. He's always trying to calm us down, we just don't notice most of the time. I looks like you paid attention this time. It shows in your lovely Zentangle.

  22. I love the stark black and white in this tile and the keyhole effect is absolutely amazing. Great job and I'm so glad that your infusion went well. In the past little while, I too have found that it's a good thing to carry a tile or two or a sketchpad and pen and pencil while waiting for doctor appointments. To tangle helps keep our minds involved so that the meds can do their job. Beautiful tile.
