That's New to Me: D

Our random letter at Suzy Mosh's challenge is D. The pattern Da'Deal looked nice to me, so I put it in my tile, opposite of Zonked and something-with-no-name in the middle ;-)

It's a String Thing #90

This week, Adele Bruno asks us to use string #090 and pair it with 3 tangles: Garlic Clove, Laced and Lanie. The last one was new to me and I love it! I'll certainly be using it more often. And that's not because it's a pattern of Adele herself! ;-)

Joey's challenge #58

Joey's feeling musical this week, so she asked us to use some Chimes in String #121. To be honoust, I found it quite hard to combine these two elements. So I decided to keep the the simple. The result is OK, it looks nicer than I thought it would be ;-)

Diva's challenge #215

This week, Laura challenged us to create our own labyrinth to use as a string. My fingers ended up creating this:

Somehow this reminds me of somebody's brain :-))

Thanks for visiting my blog, your comments always put a smile on my face!

Square One Focus: Diva Dance

Square One (a Facebook-group) asked us to focus on Diva Dance. I made this tile yesterday and was very much inspired by the weather outside, so I created a Diva Rain Dance tile :-)

G-H-I challenge

Diane & Carolien challenge us to tangle a tile with patterns starting with G, H and I.
It's always nice to look through all patterns and choose 3 to go together. This time, Golven, Hibred and Intwine were the lucky ones ;-)

At first sight, I thought this tile might look too 'clean' (not very vivid), but it's nice in it's own way.

Thank you for visiting my blog; makes me happy!

It's a String Thing #89

Were celebrating royals at Adele Bruno's challenge. Last Tuesday, April 21, it was Queen Elizabeth of England's birthday. In Holland, Monday April 27 we celebrate the birthday of our King Willem-Alexander, and his mum's (Princes Beatrix) birthday is on April 30. So... plenty reasons to create a Royal Tile :-)

I used Queen's Crown, Jems and Knightsbridge in string #89, and I'm pretty pleased with the result:

Joey's challenge #57

This week, Joey showed us a nature photo (water tracks in the sand on the coast line) and asked us to draw the string that we see in the photo.

I sort of zoomed in on the photo, and... I saw string #153 appear :-) So, that's the string I used and I filled it with Up N Down, Bales, Nvelope, Jute and Keeko. I'm pleased with the result, thanks for another nice challenge, Joey!

That's new to me: R

Suzy Mosh's random letter for this week is R, so I chose Raffz as a new pattern to me. Because it's new, something went wrong and I ended up making my own variation ;-)

Next and below it, you see Flourish, Bloom and Crux (love that one!).

Thank you for visiting my blog, makes me happy :-)

Diva's Challenge #214: Earth Day

This Wednesday is Earth Day, so Laura challenged us to keep Earth in mind while tangling. She suggested we could use any shape or material we wanted, but I chose to keep it 'simple' in black and white. I hardly ever use circles as a basic string (zendala), so that was pretty new to me.

I used Inapod for (only four...) continents, River for the oceans and Quadog to represent the people on Earth. The result looks OK, although in my mind, it was gonna look more spectacular. Oh well... ;-)

Square One Focus: Jetties

The Facebook group Square One asked us to focus on Jetties. To be honoust, I focused more on Ling than on Jetties, but I like it anyway :-)

It's a String Thing #88

For this 88th challenge of Adele Bruno we play with 8's. I chose to put Pia and Tipz in the 88-string. Curious to see what other tanglers created!

Lightn-ING

The ING pattern is one of my favorites to draw! This time, I put some other great ones beneath it: Hollibaugh, Scallops, Striping and a variant of Spokes.

Zentangle rock garden

I fancied tangling a nice and quiet setting, and was happy to see this coming out of mij hands:

That's New to Me: X

Suzy Mosh challenged us to use a new pattern starting with X. I chose to use Xulu, but once I put it within a Zedbra frame, it appeared to be too 'light' in the original design. So I added some lines and bits of black, and now my tile has an African feeling :-))

Diva's challenge #213: Stencils

This week's Diva Challenge is to find interesting objects that can create a special string. Somewhere in the back of my cupboard, I managed to find stencils for kids (there's only a part of the patterns on the photo):

I decided to use the top of the tree as a cloud and put a little sun to it:

And then I filled the strings with Chakra, Spokes, Chillon and Keeko. That was fun!

Thanks for visiting my blog; your comments are much appreciated :-)

Joey's challenge #56

Joey is still enjoying Spring (like me) so this week she likes us to tangle Flower Box, or Baskit and/ or Bluebonnets. I chose to put them all in 1 tile, which maybe gives it a strange result (grid va no-grid) but I like it anyway ;-)

D and C challenge #1

Diane and Carolien have started a new weekly challenge. This week we're to use tangles starting with the letters A, B and C. I like challenges, so I'm in :-)

For A I chose Ahh, Betweed for B and Crescent Moon for C.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

It's a String Thing #87

This week, we were tickled to tangle two newly published patterns: Loop and Brella. They were new to me as well, and I really like them! Hope you like the result too ;-)

Joey's challenge #55

Joey challenged us to tangle with the Cat-Kin. I love catkins, their beautiful, so I was happy to learn this new tangle pattern. Thanks Joey!

Diva's challenge #212

This week we tangle with a UMT, this time a tangle created by Susan Goetter. It's called Fanz, I put some Footlites to it and off we went :-)

Take a look at Laura Harms's blog to see what tanglers created with Fanz. It's fun!

That's New to Me: Q

Our random letter for this week is Q. I chose string #104 and the pattern QT. To this, I added other grid based patterns to it: Beelight, Chillon and Dugwood.

You can see the results of other tanglers at Suzy Mosh's blog

Featherfall nest

Wanted to do Featherfall again - it ended up as some kind of Inapod nest :-)

Izzy's tile: Going back to basic

Today, I fancied doing some old school patterns. And I was happy Izzy fancied showing them :-)

It's a String Thing #86

An Easter egg as a string, that's what Adele Bruno had in mind for us. Together with the patterns Well, Well-Mooka-Z and CO2 I tried to give my tile a Spring-Easter-feeling, but somehow black became a dominant color. Zentangle-life is full of surprises ;-)

That's New to Me: L

Suzy Mosh likes us to use patterns that are new to us, this week starting with an L. I chose Lokomotive, but what to put next to it?! I ended up drawing Ixorus. This may be a strange combination, but it gave me the zen I liked ;-)
