Oke is a beautiful pattern! Sometimes I find it hard to find patterns that go well with Oke, so this time I chose some golden oldies.

Zenuari 2019 day 6: Blind string

I closed my eyes and let my pencil wander around over my blank tile. I guess it helps that I’ve been drawing strings for 4 years now ;-)

The patterns I’ve used are Hekzee, Keeko and Kuke. 

Diva Challenge #365

Yeah, Laura is back after a well deserved Summer break! I’m happy, because her challenges are always inspiring. Her Back to Basics challenge is just the right thing to re-start. Thank you, Laura! Also for making me reconnect with my zentangle-colleagues, who I’ve missed too the last months. Looking forward seeing their work as well!

Back to Basics means tangling good old patterns: Hollibaugh, Crescent Moon, Keeko and Printemps. 

Diva’s challenge #364

Laura likes us to do a remake of a classic: remake one of our favorite tiles. I’ve got so many different tiles, that I decided to redo my very first entry of a challenge: my first participation in the Diva challenge #174!

Superimposing Strings was the theme back in 2014, and this time I chose to superimpose strings #020 and #040. I filled these with a lot of patterns: Keeko, Crescent Moon, Fe-Ba, Garlic Cloves, Fandance, 2-n-5, 63Y, Bloom, Carry Leaf and C-stem. 

Diva’s challenge #356

Laura asks us to draw our name and use it as a string. I tangled Keeko, Yincut and Inapod around it:

Y-ful Power as a string

In this tile I’ve used the tangle Y-ful Power as a string and I filled it with plenty different tangles. Look at the tags of this post to see which ones ;-)

Joey's challenge #185

Wow, we're filling tile # 8 out of 9 for Joey's great challenge. It's so exciting to see it grow - and now it's almost finished! :-)

This week, we're adding Printemps, which you see inside 'Nzepple and close to Keeko and Nvelope.

Yeah, it's 'Nzeppel week! Both at the Diva's blog and at Joey's! For the last one, we've reached tile #7 out of 9 and I'm so pleasantly surprised what the big total is gonna look like! Not only of my own work, but definitely as well of my colleagues' :-))

We've arrived at tile number 5 out of 9 at Joey's challenge and we're adding the tangle Muscari. This tile is a full one ;-)

It makes me happy to see where this journey is taking me!

We've arrived at tile #4 of Joey's 9 tile challenge! This week, we're drawing Breach. Around is you see Crescent Moon, Tipple, Fassett, Kiasom, C-Wing and a tiny bit of Keeko.

As you can see here, I couldn't put my pen down when I was drawing Kiasom ;-)

How nice to participate in a guest challenge by Michele, thank you for introducing me to the Rope String! I like this kind of thing and filled it with Keeko, Verve, Shattuck, Buttercup, Swarm and Up N Down. 

Square One: Flez

This week, we're focussing on the pattern Flez at Facebook's group Square One.

You see it flow around Keeko and on the outside there are Leaflet and Crescent Moon:

Crossview as a string

I drew Crossview and used it as a string. The patterns I used to fill this string are Diva Dance, Dugwud, Jemz, Fandance and Keeko.

Joey's challenge #156

Joey's 'alphabet finish my tile' challenge has arrived at the letter K. Joey started with Kiss and I put Kiasom, Kelp, Kollide, Knightsbridge and Keeko to it. That was fun :-)

String 172

A nice string to fill with tangles! I used Dugwud, Eye-Wa, Keeko, Gottago and Kiss.

Drupe as a string

Today, I've used Drupe as a string and I filled it with several patterns. Starting top left and going clockwise, you can see Quiltz, Zedbra, Yew-dee, Striping, Keeko, Jonqual, Hibred and Hollibaugh. Which one of these is your favorite tangle?

Diva's challenge #252

Laura is challenging us to tangle within a tangle. Nice idea! I chose N'Zeppel as my string and filled it with Hollibaugh, Hurry, Bales and Keeko.

Back to basic

Sometimes, it just geels good to go back to tangle basic patterns, there where the zentangle love once began ;-)

Diva's Challenge #236

This week, Laura challenges us to tangle on something unexpected, something you wouldn't normally tangle on. She used an old map, and had the highways as a string. Nice, I would have liked to use an old map as well, but I didn't want to copy Laura's idea ;-)

So, being Dutch and being used to see cows (black and white!) In the meadows, I chose to tangle on a postcard with a cow on it, after I had cut it in the right size:

When I started tangling, I noticed the card was quite smooth, it had a very tiny plastified layer. This made tangling on it pretty hard, because the ink disappeared sometimes and I couldn't really get grip on the paper. 

But hey: that's what a challenge is all about: challenges! :-)
