Sundoo as a string

Sundoo: a happy tangle! I used it as a string and filled it with Tagh, Hollibaugh, Papermint, Crescent Moon and Static.

Joey's Challenge #98

Before I post the tile that belongs to this week's challenge, first a photo of all the tiles of Joey's Musical challenges of the past 4 weeks:

Now on to the challenge of this week: use the tangle Cayke. I hadn't used it in a while, so I tangled it on quite a big part of my tile :-)

Sundoo string

Sundoo is the pattern I used as a string, and I filled it with Paradox, Kozy, Jemz, Marasu, Kiss and Mr. E.

S-F-T challenge

Diane and Carolien's Alphabet challenge arrived at the letters S, F and T. As I wanted to use Sundoo for the S, I decided to add some other organic-like patterns: Flyz and Telis.

That's New to Me: T

Our random letter at Suzy Mosh' challenge is T, so I chose Ta-da as the new-to-me pattern of this week. Artist focus Sandra Strait created some lovely patterns, out of which I chose Japonica. Two Sundoo's finished my tile :-)

Diva Challenge #223

Laura challenges us to try out the New-Old tangle Umble, which was in the latest Zentangle newsletter. Thanks to this newsletter (I think) Umble appeared in another challenge last week. You can see what I made of that challenge when you click here. Quite different, don't you think?

That's New to Me: X

Suzy Mosh challenges us to find a pattern that's new to me starting with an X. Xplo-zen was the one for me ;-)

We have to combine this with one of Sue Jacob's patterns. Those are all lovely, but how to combine one with Xplo-zen? I found that quite hard to do, and in the end I chose Coil. To finish my tile, I put some Sundoo in two corners. 

Not my nicest work, but it was nice to learn two new patterns. 

Joey's challenge #48

Joey asked us to draw some circles, not overlapping, to form polka dots. Esch dot has to be filled with a different tangle of our own choice.

My fillings ;-) are Gneiss, Lacy, Sundoo, Vortex and some self-made pattern. In the background I put plenty of mini-dots.
